SPR Global Program Policy ------------------------- At Sociopolitical Ramifications, we've globally installed muf from various programmers and coders from all over the net, and due to the nature of muf programs, we sometimes find that we may wish to modify these programs to suite our needs better. To facilitate such, we've come up with these following guidelines and rules regarding PUBLIC libraries, and programs installed via a globally accessable action in Room #0. This policy only applied to these two classifications of programs, those registered on #0 and those with an action sourced in #0 and attached to the program. 1) Public Library files. All muf programs listed in the registry of #0 should be freely modifiable by the SPR MUFwizard staff, without notice, but notice of such changes will be given to the author of the original program. Such changes will usually only be made if we feel the program has one or more of the following flaws: a) can be used to violate SPR policy, b) does not conform to properties used by other programs of a similiar or related nature. 2) Globals. Globals are programs that are accessed by an action installed in #0, linked to a program. These programs are typically always owned by SPR staff, but, there are cases where we permit the program to remain owned by its author. These programs are subject the modification rules outlined above. 3) Modification of Programs. Should we find we want to modify your globally or publically available program, we will, when possible, attempt to get the author to perform the required modifications, as deemed necessary by the MUFwizard staff. If we cannot contact you, or you do not wish to make the requested modifications, we will make a duplicate of the program and make our changes to this duplicate, and ask that your version be removed from public availability. Naturally, to keep update procedures simple, we prefer that authors perform modifications themselves, in a timely fashion, when requested. Exceptions to this, in which we will duplicate the program and modify before informing you of such changes: a) the program is causing errors for numerous users of SPR and we want them fixed immediately. b) the program violates policy, when used incorrectly, knowingly or unknowningly. 4) Intellectual Property. Every program installed and used on SPR belongs to its author. Its author may request its removal and/or discontinuance of use, at anytime, without notification or plasuable reason. However, we highly frown upon this act of inconviencing the other users whom may be using your program. In the event that a program is removed without informing the MUFwizard staff of SPR, we may restore the program from an archival copy and make it available for use until a suitable and compatible replacement is found, the period of ninety (90) days has expired, or coded by our own programmers. At the end of any of thse conditions, the program will be erased from SPR's database. 5) The bottom line. What does this all boil down to? It comes to the point, that if you wish to provide your programming, for public usage, via a global action installed on #0, you should be willing to either make modifications at our request, or not mind us making modifications ourselves and informing you of such changes, including providing the source code that include our changes. These policies are in place to simply protect the interests of all users of SPR, whom are using programs provided by SPR for thier gaming enjoyment. If you cannot abide by these policies, or find them unacceptable in some way, we suggest you not offer your programs for usage via a global action installed on #0.
